Stop Dead

Geraldine Steel must solve a case in London with all her uncertainties and determination.

When a successful businessman is the victim of a vicious murder, all evidence points to his wife and her young lover. But then the victim's business partner suffers a similarly brutal fate and when yet another body is discovered, seemingly unrelated, the police are baffled. The only clue is DNA that leads them to two women: one dead, the other in prison.
With rumours growing of a serial killer in the city, the pressure to solve the case is high. But can Geraldine find the killer before there's yet another deadly attack?

'STOP DEAD is taut and compelling, stylishly written with a deeply human voice.'

'Leigh Russell is one to watch.'

'STOP DEAD is a whodunit of the highest order. The tightly written plot kept me guessing all the way. Yes, I had the clues and was close to the identity of the killer in one sense, but in another way Russell beat me – in the battle of wits between author and reader – as she has created an intricate plot with mystery on multiple levels. The pace increases as the pages turn and there is an ever-growing sense of urgency as events spiral out of control.'
